Maria Luisa Bignardi, winner of the “Excellent 2004” prize for Italian tourism, after setting up the prestigious Relais dell’Orologio, the only five-star hotel in the historical centre of Pisa and a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, in 2003, completed a large-scale renovation of this late nineteenth-century mansion in 2005, turning it into an elegant B&B to recreate the warmth of a period house with a higher category of services.
